Merhaba Tom,
I just tried both options. The old trigger is working well on the new Hornit. The old Hornit seems to have a problem since it is constantly on, as soon as you put the batteries in. I think the problem lies within the Hornit. It has short circuit.
You really need to improve the connecting plug and the slot.
I will publish my experience with Hornit along with a short review on our blog. After that I will contact some bike shops that I think might be interested. I will keep you posted.
Please let me know if you need the old Hornit back?
Kind regards.

Hi Mustafa
Thanks for confirming that it has arrived.
Please can you try the old horn with the new trigger and vice versa to work out which part is faulty. When you tell me the result I can see if it's worth sending it back to me.
Turkish Distributor
As mentioned before I would be extremely grateful if you could ask your local bike shop who supplies him with his cycle accessories so that I can contact them.
Many thanks
Tom

Hi Mustafa
It's no problem at all. It pains me each time one of my customers has a problem so I like to sort them out as quickly as possible.
A copy of the despatch note is below.
Thanks for your comprehensive list of answers and for your suggestion. We're actually in the process of redesigning the product and it will have a bigger, more robust, thicker connection which should make it a lot easier to connect in future.
It's good to hear other riders are interested in the product. I would like to supply a Turkish distributor - it would be a great help if you can ask your local bike shop who supplies him with his accessories (lights, bells, handle bar grips etc) then I can contact them and start the business. Many thanks in advance for any help on this.
Kind regards
Tom

Hi Tom,
I would like to thank you for your prompt reply. It is very nice to see that companies like yours stand behind their products.
Please allow to start answering your questions:
1. In the first place, the connecting wire is hard to plug in the horn. Once the wire sat tight, the horn started to sound without pushing the
trigger button. So, I disconnected the wire. However, the sound did not stop and I had to take the batteries off.
2. No, it was never used in the rain.
3. It was not dropped. But, I fell off my bike to my left side last weekend. I unfortunately could not unclip my bike shoes on time.
My bike has handlebar horns which caused the Hornit not to directly hit the ground. Right after the incident I saw the connecting
wire unplugged. When I tried to connect it the things I explained in number 1 above happened.
4. I did not ever wash my bike with the Hornit on it.
I have a suggestion though: We bought two at once. We both experienced quite frequently that it is very hard and unpractical to connect the wire to the Hornit when it mounted on the handlebar. I believe it would be easier to handle the Hornit if the connecting pin of the wire were a bit more robust. I truly hope we would have similar problem with the second Hornit.
Please also be kindly noted that many riders in Istanbul stopped me to ask where I got the Hornit. They were amazed by the loud sound of it.
I had to tell them it's unfortunately not available in Turkey.

Let me give you the address of my girlfriend's work for delivery:

Hi Mustafa
I'm very sorry to hear you've had a problem. It sounds like a major fault. We look after all our customers worldwide so will happily send you a replacement. Please can you send me your delivery address.
Normally we ask people to return the faulty unit as faults are very rare and we always want to investigate the cause to make the factory aware and to prevent failures in future. Please can you give me more information on the failure:
1. Does it sound only when the connecting wire is plugged in or does it sound by itself without the connecting wire?
2. Has it been used in the rain?
3. Has it been dropped?
4. Did you wash your bike with the hornit on it?
Please give me as much information as possible - it's no problem what the answer is to any questions above...I just want to know so I can improve the product in future - we will send you a replacement regardless of the cause of the fault.
Kind regards
Tom

I have been using HORNIT with lots of fun for already 5 months. Unfortunately, the trigger's cable connection failed and now the horn is constantly on. So, I had to take the batteries off. I tried to disassemble it without luck. I live in Turkey and cannot send it to you. Do you have a technical guide or instructions manual I can make use of? Thank you for your help in advance.
